The power of hope

Description: What happens if we lose hope? In this keynote, Dutch photographer Pie Aerts explores the fragile relationship between people and place, and what happens when we lose our connection to the landscapes that shape us. Drawing on a decade of telling stories of memory, myth, displacement, resilience and belonging, he asks a fundamental question: when we lose our sense of place, do we also risk losing a sense of who we are? Yet at the heart of Aerts’ work lies a deliberate choice: to look for hope where it seems hardest to find. Through powerful stories from some of the world’s most fragile places, he explores why hope matters, how it survives, and what happens when we choose to hold on to it, and ultimately he demonstrates how vulnerability is paving the way to change.

Der Vortrag findet auf englisch statt.
